Introduction to me

Arien and Her Genius Brother Linus

Hello, Fellow Readers! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Arien, and I have two siblings: Bran and Linus. Linus, my brother, is a remarkable genius with a talent for drawing. Not only is he creatively inclined, but he also possesses a unique sense of humour. Unfortunately, he often feels misunderstood by others, but I understand why.

Some people struggle to handle his eccentricities, and in my opinion, they are the ones who lack understanding. Despite this, I deeply care for Linus and pray for his well-being day and night. It saddens me to think that he might believe people hate him, which is far from true. Linus is simply a genius with unconventional ideas, and I fully embrace them.

Appreciating Our Differences

Like Linus, I have my own thoughts and ideas. However, I do not seek to impose my perspective on others. I understand that sharing my unique thought processes could potentially frighten people. Nonetheless, I find solace in the fact that Linus and I can agree on many things. Unlike some individuals whose brains are wired differently, we have the ability to comprehend each other. Sadly, not everyone can understand or accept those whose minds work in distinct ways. They might consider it a challenge to connect with people who deviate from the norm. It's a difficult reality, but I've learned to smile and feign agreement when faced with such situations.

Supporting Linus

Linus is a good-natured individual who never fails to make me laugh. However, he too has his bad days, just like anyone else. As his sister, it is my responsibility to care for him and ensure his happiness. Even when we experience our own hardships, as long as I support and uplift him, everything will be alright. If I were to have children of my own someday, I would cherish the opportunity to create joyful moments with them. I would strive to show them unwavering care and happiness, even during their sad moments. I would avoid getting angry with them, except when absolutely necessary, as I wouldn't want my mistakes to be the cause of their sorrow. Instead, I would pray for their well-being. However, I understand that they may not think in the same way as I do. It would be cruel to impose my perspectives on them, even if I believe I am doing a good job.

Embracing Uniqueness

I would never want my children to fear me or feel unable to communicate openly with me. It is not amusing or beneficial to deliberately make them uncomfortable. Though I perceive the world differently from most people, I cannot change my thought patterns, nor can Linus. Why alter our brains when we can simply continue to learn and expand our knowledge? Some individuals find it challenging to do so because their brains are wired differently. Unfortunately, their thinking may not make sense to me. In such instances, I smile and pretend to agree, even though I don't. Linus excels at creating his own vocabulary, and I am genuinely impressed by his linguistic abilities. He even smiles at me, and that makes me content. Personally, I find the question "How are you?" to be perplexing because I rarely contemplate my own emotions. Thus, I don't see the necessity of such inquiries. If I were to ask you the same question, you might not appreciate it. Some people are accustomed to asking one another about their well-being, considering it a social norm. However, my brain fails to comprehend its significance. Instead, I find joy in contemplating Linus's profound statements that resonate with my own mind.

Understanding Linus's Unconventional Diet

Linus's dietary preferences are quite distinctive. He enjoys consuming toast, bacon, and shakes, even though he doesn't experience tastes like typical individuals do. Unfortunately, many people find it challenging to comprehend his dietary choices, often labeling him as difficult. However, this assumption is far from the truth. To those who hold such opinions, I say, "Whatever." But it's essential not to belittle these intelligent individuals for being different. Who are we to pass judgment without truly understanding them? It is imperative to back off and recognize the struggles faced by those with unique brains. It is a challenging experience that most individuals cannot fathom. Trust me, it's difficult to believe unless you've lived it. Additionally, I have a heightened sensitivity to bright light, causing me to experience headaches. When this occurs, I must retreat to a dark room, and it becomes nearly impossible for me to re-emerge into bright surroundings. Acting like a typical person feels unattainable. Even if I attempted to do so, it would serve no purpose. I refuse to conform to societal expectations simply for the sake of fitting in.

Respecting Differences and Avoiding Judgment

I urge you not to compare your brain to mine. Suppose you were walking down the street and came across an individual who exhibited twitches. As a regular person, you might be inclined to laugh at them, thinking it's cool to do so. But how would you feel if someone did the same to you? Such behaviour is simply wrong and should be ceased immediately. It's not funny, and you know it! I apologize if your brain finds things boring due to its inability to comprehend certain concepts. I genuinely do. However, this is merely my perspective.

Avoiding Assumptions

For instance, if I were to witness you driving at a high speed, I would question why you engage in such risky behaviour. I might wonder if you have a desire to harm someone. You might deny it, offering an excuse for your actions before finally uttering a half-hearted apology. If you are not genuinely sorry, then don't say it. It's best to walk away. Personally, I enjoy walking at times. Observing trees outside and learning different languages proves beneficial to the mind. Laughing at everything can lift my spirits when I'm feeling down, although I must exercise caution since not everyone understands this tendency.

Some people come across as foolish when they try to restrict or question individuals who possess unique brains. Asking, "Why do you act that way?" or "What's wrong with you?" can severely damage a person's well-being. Therefore, it's crucial to refrain from such behaviours. But why do it? Is it because you believe you know that person well? Consider this: I didn't always know if I wanted to become a teacher or a doctor. Nonetheless, I find the human heart and brain fascinating. The intricate design of the human body astounds me, yet some individuals find it terrifying. How can something so awe-inspiring be perceived as frightening? It's beyond my comprehension.

I enjoy reading captivating material that expands my understanding. I will continue to do so, hoping that one day, my knowledge might aid someone else. If an individual is suffering from sadness, for example, I could provide encouragement. However, it's important not to have high expectations of others, as it only leads to doubt and despair. If you despise feeling that way, you would likely avoid forming friendships altogether. Doubting oneself in isolation can result in depression, hopelessness, and the feeling of being hated. Emotional numbness is a natural sensation that diminishes over time but never entirely disappears. Initially, it's crucial to identify the cause. Is it due to the inability to express oneself? Or perhaps a yearning for better understanding from a parent? It's possible that you have never received words of appreciation.

While I was in town with Christofina and Dad, we met Patrick. He shared some advice: if you do bad things to others, they will do bad things to you, or God will punish you. I found his words interesting, though I can't remember him very well—it must have been a long time ago.

A man was selling vehicles for a living to make money, but before that, he was not very successful. He had to start somewhere in order to make a living. Over time, he sold 25 million dollars’ worth of vehicles to his customers, and that’s how he became successful.

I have had a numb hand for some time now. I need to keep using that black hand squeezer to straighten my thumb and do push-ups on my knuckles. Here is where I will start, so here I go.

On Thursday, January 25th, I found myself outside, engaged in a project involving wool, bottle tops, and the assistance of local bushmen. As I meticulously wrapped steel wire with vibrant colors, the bushmen's lively radio tunes added to the cheerful atmosphere. Encouraged by their enthusiasm, Paranjo joined in, mirroring JP's actions. Grateful for their help, I acknowledged their contribution before turning my attention to other matters.

Me In Jail
June 2022

When I found myself in prison, fear gripped me as I realized I could be locked up for three weeks. The white walls seemed to close in on me, and I couldn't help but shed tears. It was a moment of reckoning, realizing that I had said hurtful things to my mother, and I deeply regretted it. In that moment, I understood the need to have better control over my emotions and actions.

Being alone has always appealed to me, as I believed that true happiness could be found in complete solitude. Despite my attempts to socialise and connect with others, it proved to be a futile endeavour. Eventually, I came to the realisation that I couldn't accurately express or understand my own emotions.
